Legend has it that the Pantheon was built on the place where Romulus the founder of Rome was carried off as he died by eagles to take his place with the gods in the skies, when Michel Angelo looked upon the building he felt it was the work of angels, with its domed ceiling (the first on record) and amazing decoration, rebuilt after 2 fires it now stands proud as Rome’s oldest building, and a must see on a trip to rome.
